I love monkeys! You probably didn’t see that one coming… I couldn’t resist sharing a few of my favorite cute monkey pictures with you:
Pig-tail macaques at a temple in Thailand:
I love this photo. It looks rather painful, although the mother didn’t seem to mind. Talk about a mother’s love!

Struggling to Lose The Baby Weight in Germany at Monkey Mountain (Affenberg)
Who knew that it wasn’t only humans that face this struggle? Making things more difficult is she has temptation all day long of people offering her popcorn. At least you can take condolences in knowing that your fat a** is not showing up on some blog.

Gorillas at the Calgary and Toronto Zoo
(note gorillas are actually apes, not monkeys, but I studied and worked with these gorillas so had to include them!).
I was fortunate enough to actually study and work with the gorillas in the photos below. I did a Bachelor of Science degree in Primatology (the study of primates). As part of my studies, I conducted observational studies on the gorillas. After graduating I worked at the Calgary Zoo, teaching educational programs. Needless to say, my favorite ones were the ones on the gorillas.

Now, if I could just find the picture of the Capuchin monkey getting REALLY excited over my lip chap that he stole, we’d be all set.
Long-Tailed Macaque:
These cute characters are found in southeast Asia. This family of monkeys is just heartwarming.

Japanese Macaque:
These furry monkeys are cute no matter what they’re doing. But they were especially adorable here. They are infamous for loving long luxurious baths in the hot springs.

Barbary Macaque/Ape:
There is nothing like seeing a mother and her baby being affectionate with each other. These are the cutest monkey kisses I have ever seen.

Sleepy Capuchin Monkey:
Capuchins are famous for their energy and mischievous behavior. This guy must be really tired from all the activity. He sure does nap cute.

A Squirrel Monkey looking for his friends:
This little guy is such a cute monkey. I think his friends were playing their version of hiding and seek with him.

A Vervet Monkey:
This cute vervet monkey was hiding behind a tree peeping at his onlookers. He reminds me of a child playing peek-a-boo. I can’t imagine anything more adorable can you?
